Ecco a voi una speciale intervista con il duo Neverdogs, dopo aver annunciato il rilascio del nuovo singolo “Ibiza” in collaborazione con la voce di Pepe Roselló (fondatore dello Space di Ibiza). I due artisti Tommy e Marco ci guidano attraverso questo progetto molto particolare, rilasciato per l’etichetta Snatch! di Riva Starr.

Negli ultimi giorni vi abbiamo annunciato l’uscita del nuovo singolo “Ibiza” del duo calabrese Neverdogs. Un singolo che può vantare la prima incisione assoluta della voce di Pepe Roselló, appena lanciata dal marchio discografico Snatch! Records di Riva Starr. Abbiamo avuto il piacere di scambiare due chiacchiere direttamente con Tommy Paone e Marco De Gregorio aka Neverdogs che ci hanno illustrato il processo produttivo del brano in questione.

Non è una cosa da tutti riuscire ad unire il proprio estro artistico e l’essenza umana alla base della club culture ibizenca. Grazie alla sinergia con la leggendaria figura di Pepe e l’inclusione di un remix targato Reboot, assistiamo ad un ulteriore passo importante per la carriera dei due rinomati produttori italiani.

Ciao ragazzi, benvenuti su Parkett! Questa nuova release in arrivo su Snatch! Records è davvero speciale. Avete incluso la voce di una leggenda vivente: Pepe Roselló. Com’è nata questa bellissima collaborazione?

In realtà, questa traccia ha 7 anni. L’idea di realizzarla è venuta quando vivevamo in Ibiza, dove avevamo anche il nostro studio di produzione. Dopo aver ascoltato l’intervista di Pepe, abbiamo tagliato le parti che ci interessavano e abbiamo deciso di omaggiare l’isola con qualcosa di speciale.

L’idea era di omaggiare l’isola, che tanto ci ha dato e che continua a regalarci emozioni, con qualcosa di veramente speciale. Pepe, con la sua influenza nel mondo della night life ibizenca (grazie al marchio “Space”) ha creato uno status symbol seguito da tutto il mondo e ha segnato un’era alla quale ci sentiamo di appartenere.

Abbiamo ritenuto che il nostro tributo ad Ibiza si sarebbe potuto realizzare con la nostra produzione e le sue parole. Questa traccia è stata mantenuta nascosta per lungo tempo, un gioiellino che volevamo suonare solo in occasioni speciali.

Qualche mese fa l’abbiamo suonata e Miky J label manager di Snatch! Records ne è rimasto entusiasta. L’ha fatta ascoltare al proprietario dell’etichetta Riva Starr che ha chiesto di pubblicarla sulla sua label. Abbiamo discusso dell’idea con Pepe, che l’ha apprezzata, e da lì abbiamo programmato la release con un potente remix di Reboot.

Come avete conosciuto Pepe e come si è svolto il processo creativo in studio?

Abbiamo conosciuto Pepe attraverso Hugo Quintanilla, storico sound engineer di Space e nostro caro amico e collaboratore. Il processo creativo è stato fluido e coinvolgente. Ci siamo divertiti molto a lavorare sulla parte ritmica, campionando alcuni elementi dalla batteria di Davide Ruberto. Nella pausa abbiamo il racconto di Pepe che tocca il cuore e fa emozionare chi la ascolta.

Cosa avete pensato con lui una volta decisa la data di uscita?

La data di uscita è stata fissata al 3 agosto 2023. Abbiamo deciso di presentare l’EP agli amici, al pubblico e agli addetti ai lavori il venerdì 4 agosto allo Space Eat and Dance di Sant’Antonio (Ibiza) durante il tramonto, alla presenza di Pepe e del team di Snatch! Successivamente, suoneremo al Music On con Luciano e Marco Carola. È la combinazione perfetta per presentare e suonare la nostra traccia.

Questo progetto si candida ad entrare nella storia della musica elettronica internazionale. Avete già avuto feedback positivi da grandi djs della scena globale?

Abbiamo ricevuto feedbacks positivi da Joseph Capriati, Nic Fanciulli, Paco Osuna, Damian Lazarus e Dennis Cruz. Giusto per nominarne alcuni.

La scelta di uscire su Snatch! Records di Riva Starr contribuisce a dare un ulteriore tocco italiano al tutto. Come pensate si stia sviluppando l’influenza del nostro paese nel mondo del clubbing?

Uscire su Snatch! Records di Riva Starr è sempre un piacere. È un’etichetta consolidata nel mercato e c’è una stima reciproca con Riva e il suo team. È la scelta giusta per questa release. L’Italia è sempre stata presente e ha influenzato la scena del clubbing sin dagli anni ’90, quando luoghi come Riccione dettavano legge al pari di Ibiza. Oggi ci sono dei club come l’Amnesia di Milano, il Circolo degli Illuminati a Roma, il Classic Club di Rimini, il Cocoricò di Riccione, mentre nella provincia di Venezia il Tag e After Caposile, per nominarne alcuni che nella scena underground hanno ospiti di eccellenza.

Here is a special interview with the duo Neverdogs, after announcing the release of the new single “Ibiza” in collaboration with the voice of Pepe Roselló (founder of Space Ibiza). The two artists Tommy and Marco guide us through this very particular project, released for the record label Snatch! by Riva Starr.

In the last few days we have announced the release of the new single “Ibiza” by the Calabrian duo Neverdogs. A single that boasts the first ever recording of Pepe Roselló‘s voice, just launched by the record brand Snatch! by Riva Starr. You can listen to the premiere of the album by reading this article.

We had the pleasure of having a chat directly with Tommy Paone and Marco De Gregorio aka Neverdogs who illustrated the production process of the song in question.

It is not everyone’s thing to be able to combine one’s artistic flair and the human essence at the base of the Ibizan club culture. Thanks to the synergy with the legendary figure of Pepe and the inclusion of a remix by Reboot, we are witnessing a further important step in the career of the two renowned Italian producers.

Hi guys, welcome to Parkett! This new release coming to Snatch! Records is really special. You have included the voice of a living legend: Pepe Roselló. How did this beautiful collaboration come about?

To tell the truth.. this track is 7 years old. The idea to make it came when we were living in Ibiza, where we also had our own production studio. After listening to Pepe’s interview, we cut out the parts that interested us and decided to pay homage to the island with something special.

The idea was to pay homage to the island, which has given us so much and continues to give us emotions, with something special. Pepe, with his influence in the world of Ibizan night life thanks to the “Space” brand, has created a status symbol followed by the whole world and marked an era to which we feel we belong.

We felt that our tribute to Ibiza could have been done with our production and his words. This track has been kept under wraps for a long time, a little gem we only wanted to play on special occasions.

A few months ago we played it and Miky J label manager of Snatch! Records was thrilled. He played it to the owner of the Riva Starr label who asked to release it on his label. We discussed the idea with Pepe, who liked it, and from there we planned the release with a powerful Reboot remix.

How did you meet Pepe and how did the creative process in the studio go?

We met Pepe through Hugo Quintanilla, Space’s historic sound engineer and our dear friend and collaborator. The creative process was smooth and engaging. We had a lot of fun working on the rhythm part, sampling some elements from Davide Ruberto‘s drums. In the break we have Pepe’s story that touches the heart and excites those who listen to it.

What did you think with him once the release date was decided?

The release date has been set for August 3, 2023. We decided to present the EP to friends, the public and insiders on Friday August 4 at the Space Eat and Dance in Sant’Antonio (Ibiza) during the sunset, at the presence of Pepe and the Snatch team! Later, we will play at Music On with Luciano and Marco Carola. It’s the perfect combination to present and play our track.

This project is a candidate to enter the history of international electronic music. Have you already had positive feedback from great djs on the global scene?

We received positive feedbacks from Joseph Capriati, Nic Fanciulli, Paco Osuna, Damian Lazarus and Dennis Cruz. Just to name a few.

Choosing to date on Snatch! Records by Riva Starr helps to give a further Italian touch to the whole. How do you think the influence of our country is developing in the world of clubbing?

Hanging out on Snatch! Riva Starr Records is always a pleasure. It is a consolidated label on the market and there is mutual esteem between us and the Riva Starr’s team. It’s the right choice for this release. Italy has always been present and has influenced the clubbing scene since the 90s, when places like Riccione ruled as much as Ibiza. Today there are clubs such as the Amnesia in Milan, Circolo degli Illuminati in Rome, Classic Club in Rimini, Cocoricò in Riccione, while in the province of Venice the Tag and After Caposile, to name a few that have guests in the underground scene of excellence.
