Questo sabato tutti in pista con un nuovo appuntamento con “A Love From Outer Space” al Bellavista di Chieti. Il format di successo firmato dal protagonista della serata, Sean Johnston ed Andrew Weatherall e promosso da Arturo Capone per commemorare il grande Weatherall nella maniera più bella: una serata di grande musica.
Sean verrà affiancato da un altro grande nome del panorama musicale elettronico: Das Komplex, dj e produttore di origini polacche che vanta release in etichette di rilievo come Juno Records. Ciao Sean, benvenuto su Parkett. Come stai?
Ciao, grazie per avermi ospitato. Sto molto bene e sono molto felice di ritornare a Chieti per suonare al Bellavista con Das Komplex. E’ un artista che ho sempre ammirato e sono veramente contento di poter suonare con lui in una location così bella.
Non è la prima volta che suoni in Italia, in particolare al Bellavista. Cosa ti connette artisticamente all’Italia, oltre alla lunga amicizia e collaborazione con Arturo Capone?
Ho lavorato per tanti anni con Arturo con il quale abbiamo sempre condiviso la sua visione artistica (e l’amore per la cucina italiana), ma ho sempre avuto connessioni forti con il panorama musicale italiano sin da quando ho iniziato a collezionare dischi negli anni ’80.
In primis con la Italo Disco, poi con il boom dell’House Music nei primi anni ’90. Ho trascorso tanti venerdì pomeriggio da Trax Records aspettando l’arrivo dei dischi e delle ultime tracce di etichette come Flying, UMM, Groove Groove Melody e New Music.
Sono stato particolarmente colpito ed influenzato dallo stile di Daniele Baldelli e the Cosmic and Afro Movements e ho cercato di far confluire questi stili in “A Love From Outer Space”.
Cosa ci dobbiamo aspettare da questa location e cosa provi ogni volta che suoni nel rooftop di Corso Marrucino?
Come ti dicevo prima, con la vista sui tetti e l’architettura antica di Chieti, le montagne e il mare…. è davvero incredibile e provoca una risposta emotiva molto forte.

This Saturday everyone on track with a new appointment with “A Love From Outer Space” at Bellavista in Chieti. This successful format created by the protagonist of the evening, Sean Johnston with Andrew Weatherall, and promoted by Arturo Capone to commemorate Weatherall in the most beautiful way: an evening of great music.
Sean will be joined by another big name in the electronic music scene: Das Komplex, DJ and producer of Polish origin who boasts releases in major labels such as Juno Records. Hi Sean, welcome to Parkett. How are you doing?
Hi, thanks, I’m doing great and very excited to be returning to Chieti and to play at Bellavista with Das Komplex. He’s an artist whose work I have admired for a long time, so exciting to DJ together in such an iconic venue.
Is not your first time playing in Italy, in particular at Bellavista. What’s your artistic link to Italy, more than the longtime friendship and collaboration with Arturo Capone?
Obviously, I have been working with Arturo for a long time and share his artistic vision (and love of Italian Cuisine), but I have felt strong musical links with Italy going back to when I first started collecting music in the 80’s.
First with Italo Disco, and then with the Italian House boom of the early 90’s. I spent many Friday afternoons in Trax Records, waiting for the imports van with all the latest tracks from labels like Flying, UMM, Groove Groove Melody, and New Music. Also, the DJing style of Danielle Baldelli and the Cosmic and Afro movements very much informed what I do as A Love From Outer Space.
What should we expect from this venue and what are your feelings while playing at Corso Marrucino’s rooftop?
As I said previously with its view of the ancient architecture of Chieti, the mountains and the sea – it’s absolutely inspirational and sure to provoke an emotional response…
