Volleyball – Lost

In early 2023, Voolleyball heard an unreleased demo by singer-songwriter Alex Tierney and were instantly drawn to one specific line that now loops hypnotically throughout ‘Lost’. They sampled that original demo and began building a track around those few heartfelt words in an attempt to capture the feelings of love and longing they evoked when the pair first heard them.

The result is a sonic journey that takes listeners on an emotional rollercoaster from introspection to euphoria through a landscape of high-flying gated synths brought back down to earth by raw drums and aggressive, arpeggiated bass. The high highs and low lows of the track’s buildups and releases echo the emotional extremities described in its key lyric.
